Implementation of a new POS
Software packaging
We created a base image for every single cash-desk workplace. Based on it we configured the software packages for the different computer groups: the central POS server, the branch server PCs and the cash-desk PCs. Errors within the POS software that appeared only in the interaction with other involved components could be removed by the supplier in time.
Rollout
One important requirement was that the branch day trade should almost not be affected by the rollout. As a precaution we checked all hardware components for their completeness and functional ability. The branch personnel was trained in such a way that the clients could any time be advised and the cash-desks were staffed during the business hours. After conducting all necessary measures we installed the software packages. In this way the newly installed POS could be put into operation directly after the rollout.
