Cash-desk design
The layout of the cash-desk keyboard and the touch screen should be designed following functional aspects and should regarding the experiences made by the retail trade personnel. Within a workshop, were also the representatives attended, the different wishes and ideas were stated and considered with the design. As a result we could develop a user-friendly and sophisticated cash-desk design that meets the varied demands.
Infrastructure
The network infrastructure within the branches was harmonized and partly upgraded. For example the existing ISDN dedicated lines were removed and replaced by internet based VPN lines (virtual private network). With the VPN technology a cost-effective, comfortable and secure access from every single branch PC to the private company network via the internet becomes possible. According to the discretion of the operator different security levels can be integrated in order to protect the system against unauthorized accesses.
