Implementation of a ERP/PPS System

For a medium-sized company in the plant engineering industry every business process of the departments construction, production planning, manufacturing, purchase, stock-keeping, logistic as well as the entire finance and human resources management, the distribution and the quality assurance should be mapped in a functional and user-friendly ERP/PPS-System.

Firstly we had to register and analyze the complete organizational structure. The existing working processes were revised on functionality and effectiveness and newly defined if required, redundant procedures were rationalized. An appropriate documentation accompanied the project and supported also the continuous staff training.

With the results of the structure analysis we could see which procedures should be adopted into the new system and which had to be fundamentally revised. For implementing the required structure we established a completely new classification and numbering system (according to Opitz) for the material-, product- and document inventory.
