In a next step we developed a test environment that reflected the circumstances of the whole project. Thus we were able to test and improve the basic functionalities. We pre-set every configuration and we could consecutively verify the interactions of all components in advance. Using this test system we finally built the real system.
At last the rollout team traveled every site worldwide within 2 months, to conduct the installation of the pre-configurated systems and to train the users. Because of the different time zones the central office had to provide support around the clock.
Even on later service deployments we could benefit from the careful planning at the beginning. For example the available installation instructions allows always an easy access and the configuration of the PCs equipped with removable disks enables the user-friendly maintenance.
