The existing hardware consisted of one standard PC (80286) with a MS DOS operating system and a HTBasic runtime system from TransEra or optionally a Hewlett-Packard BASIC language processor adapter card.
With the completion of this control software it was possible for the users to develop own control programs by embedding various pre-defined subroutines into the main program. Now, the software environment could easily be extended by new functions.
On the basis of this lab system we developed a new software version to control production plants for the food technology in a subsequent project.
